Etsy Witch Spells: Every Type Explained
Etsy witch spells are low-cost rituals an online witch performs for you, most often for good weather, love, a new job, luck or protection, plus the occasional hex. Most cost about $7 to $50 and come with a photo or message confirming the ritual was done.

Etsy witch spells are small, paid rituals that an online witch performs on your behalf. The big categories are weather, love, job, luck, protection and hex spells, and most cost about $7 to $50. You send your intention and details, the witch performs the ritual remotely, and you usually get a photo or message as confirmation. No spell can guarantee a result, but understanding what each type involves helps you decide if one is right for you.
Below you will find a table of every major spell type with typical prices, then a closer look at each one, including the job and hex spells people search for most.
Etsy witch spell types at a glance

Good weather spells
Weather spells are the trend's breakout product. A viral TikTok in May 2025 by creator Jaz Smith, about paying an Etsy witch for sunny wedding weather, kicked off the whole phenomenon. Couples, bridesmaids and parents now buy them for weddings, bachelorettes, graduations and festivals.
A typical weather spell involves the witch working with candles, herbs, crystals or oils while focusing on your event's date and place. The Boston Globe described exactly this in its 2026 report on New England couples who hired witches ahead of a nor'easter. Some witches also gave clients affirmations to repeat until the day. It is worth knowing that the storm arrived anyway for many of those couples.

Love and attraction spells
Love spells are one of the most popular categories overall. Listings range from gentle self-love and "attract your soulmate" rituals to spells promising a specific person will come back or become "obsessed."
What to know:
- Self-focused spells (confidence, openness to love) are the gentlest and least ethically fraught.
- Spells aimed at a named person are trickier. Promising to override someone's free will is a red flag, both ethically and as a scam signal.
- Reconciliation spells are often where the biggest upsells appear.

Etsy witch job spells
"Etsy witch for job" is one of the most common searches, and job spells were a big part of the 2025 TikTok wave. People bought them before interviews, while waiting for an offer, or ahead of salary talks.
A job spell usually takes one of these forms:
- Road opener. A ritual to "clear the path" to new opportunities.
- Interview confidence. Timed for the day before or morning of an interview.
- Offer or decision spell. Focused on a specific employer's decision.
- Promotion or raise. Focused on an existing workplace.
What to send: your first name, the role or company, the key date (interview, decision deadline), and a one-sentence intention.
The honest take: a hiring manager's decision depends on your experience, your interview and many factors you cannot see. A job spell cannot change that. What it can do is act as a confidence ritual, which may help you walk in calmer and more focused. Do the preparation first, then add the ritual if you like.
Luck and money spells
Luck and abundance spells are the vaguest category, which makes them the easiest to feel "worked." Sellers offer spells for house sales, exams, sports, lottery tickets and general prosperity. NBC's reporter bought an abundance ritual for $23.71 alongside a weather spell.
If you buy one, make the intention as concrete as possible ("a buyer for our house by the end of the month"), and never treat a luck spell as financial advice.
Protection spells
Protection spells aim to shield you from negativity, bad energy, or a stressful situation, such as a new job, a family gathering or a big move. They are typically framed around cleansing and warding. Because the goal is a feeling of safety rather than an external outcome, many buyers find them the most satisfying.
Etsy witch hex and justice spells
Hexes get a lot of attention online: spells to curse an ex, a cheating partner or a terrible boss. Some sellers frame them as "justice" or "karma" spells.
A few things worth knowing before you buy an Etsy witch hex:
- They cannot physically harm anyone. A hex is a ritual. For most buyers it is a way to vent.
- They attract scams. Hex and revenge listings are where you most often see "the target has strong protection, pay more" upsells.
- They are a policy target. Etsy's metaphysical services policy specifically cites "revenge" as an outcome sellers cannot promise, according to Time's 2015 report on the ban.
- Consider the ethics. Even if a hex is symbolic, wishing harm on someone can keep you stuck in the anger.
We do not offer hexes. If you need the catharsis, writing an unsent letter and burning it safely is free, private and surprisingly effective.
What a typical spell order looks like
Whatever the spell type, most orders follow the same five steps:
- You choose a listing and any options, such as a single spell or a bundle.
- You send your details: names, dates, location for weather spells, and a short intention.
- The witch schedules the ritual, sometimes on a particular moon phase or day of the week linked to the goal.
- The ritual is performed with tools like candles, herbs, oils, crystals or written petitions.
- You receive confirmation, often a photo, sometimes a video, affirmations or a written blessing.
The most common reason buyers end up disappointed is not the ritual itself. It is missing details, unclear timing or no confirmation at all. Our guide on how to hire an Etsy witch covers what to send and when, so nothing gets lost.
How to choose the right spell
Ask yourself three questions:
- Is my goal specific? "Dry skies at 4 pm on June 12 at our venue" beats "good luck."
- Is it about me or someone else? Spells focused on your own confidence, safety or event sit on firmer ethical ground than spells meant to control another person.
- Do I have a real-world plan too? A weather spell plus a tent is smarter than a weather spell alone. A job spell plus interview prep is smarter than a job spell alone.

A personal weather ritual, honestly offered
If a good-weather spell is what you are after, our wedding weather spell is a personal ritual for your date and location, performed before your day, with photo proof and a written blessing. We are upfront that it cannot guarantee the weather. It is intention, comfort and tradition, and a nice story to tell your guests.
The bottom line
Etsy witch spells come in a handful of familiar flavors: weather, love, job, luck, protection and hex, plus bundles. Most cost about $7 to $50 and include a confirmation or photo. None can guarantee an outcome. The best choices are specific, focused on your own wellbeing or event, honestly described, and paired with a real-world plan.
Frequently asked questions
What kind of spells do Etsy witches sell?
The most common are good weather spells for weddings and events, love and attraction spells, job and career spells, luck and money spells, and protection spells. Some sellers also offer hexes or justice spells. Most are performed remotely, and buyers receive a confirmation, often a photo of the ritual.
How much does an Etsy witch spell cost?
Most spells cost roughly $7 to $50 according to press coverage, with some listings under a dollar and premium bundles above $50. Weather and job spells often fall between $10 and $25. Price does not indicate effectiveness; it mostly reflects personalization, proof and how much time the witch spends.
Does an Etsy witch job spell work?
There is no evidence a spell can make an employer hire you. Buyers who credit a job spell often were already strong candidates. A job spell can work as a confidence ritual before an interview, which may help you show up calmer. Pair it with good preparation, not instead of it.
Is it safe to buy an Etsy witch hex?
Physically, a hex is just a ritual and cannot harm anyone. But hex listings attract more scams and upsells, and spells aimed at hurting or controlling another person raise real ethical questions. Many buyers treat hexes as a way to vent. If that is you, consider whether writing a letter you never send would scratch the same itch.
Can I do an Etsy witch spell myself?
Yes. Most spells are simple rituals built on intention, candles, herbs or written wishes. You can create your own good weather or confidence ritual at home for free. People hire a witch mainly for the experience, the personal touch and the feeling that someone else is focused on their wish.
